Week 4 – Assignment: Prepare Initiatives for an Organization
Instructions
For this week’s assignment, prepare a professional memo for leadership members within an organization of your choice. In your memo, apply the insights you have learned regarding the strategic management process by developing two (2) or three (3) initiatives that can be realized within this organization. Be specific about the positive outcomes you expect and the negative factors that may cause unforeseen stress to avoid or minimize.
Discuss how you will implement these initiatives, and then identify the changes in laws/regulations and/or political appointees’ mindset may be required to overcome any dissension or resistance that is likely to be met.
Memos are concise; devote about one page for each initiative. Format your document as you would a professional memo with proper headings including the date, who the document is written to, and subject line.
Total length: 2-3 pages, not including title or reference pages.
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources.
Your assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Week 5 – Assignment: Formulate Responses to the Application of Strategic Management
Instructions
Select and analyze two current (post-2013) scholarly articles on strategic management topics that illustrate the challenges of applying strategic management in the public sector. Then, draft analysis for each article that addresses the following:
Summarize the author(s) key points and assess their conclusions.
Provide your own thoughts and conclusions regarding each article.
Integrate current theoretical perspectives on these challenges to recommend improvements for strategic management implementation.
Support your findings from the two articles with this week’s readings as well as additional research.
